Life at SAIT
Cheryle joined the School of Business in 2024, stepping into the newly created role of Manager, Program Experience and Administration. With nearly two decades of experience in administrative leadership at the University of Calgary, Cheryle brings a wealth of knowledge in managing complex teams and streamlining operational processes. At SAIT, she oversees program assistants, school receptionists, and curriculum administrators, ensuring that faculty and students receive exceptional administrative support.
Cheryle is a proud grandmother to three grandchildren. She enjoys spending time outdoors, golfing, hiking, and skiing—both downhill and cross-country. Her adventurous spirit has taken her abroad, including two years working in Qatar, an experience that broadened her cultural perspective and deepened her love for travel.
Education and certifications
Cheryle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Calgary and a Human Resources Management Certificate from the same institution. Her skill set includes strategic planning, performance management, and organizational efficiency. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a keen ability to implement effective policies and eliminate redundancies, a focus she continues to bring to her role at SAIT.
Professional Accomplishments
Before joining SAIT, Cheryle held multiple managerial positions at the University of Calgary. She led a team of 56 professionals, managing recruitment, performance, and workflow coordination. She also oversaw the timely delivery of medical documentation crucial for patient care. Her expertise extends to research services, where she optimized administrative operations for the Research Services Office. Additionally, she served as Executive Administrator at the University of Calgary's Qatar campus, where she supported high-level academic leadership and facilitated international governance meetings.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
