Course Description

How to build green

This course introduces you to environment related legal and ethical requirements as they relate to environmental site and project management. The focus will primarily address green building project management, certificate programs, compliance standards and how they affect your project timeline, cost, and client.

You will be exposed to green building features that meet or address energy efficiency, building science, and environmental concerns related to the construction industry. This course is meant to help builders recognize and evaluate economic, social and environmental impacts of sustainable development.

Emerging building topics covered:

  1. Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) environmental rating compliance program for new construction
  2. Site assessment/environmental considerations
  3. How to source, outline and rate properties of a green building product specification
  4. Evaluation of Environmental New Construction Management Plan
