Course Description

This course examines the basics of solar PV installations. You will learn aspects of the electrical grid system, and how solar PV can help reduce reliance on it. An introduction to electrical terms & properties will be explored in order to provide a base for solar PV topics. Learn what the advantages are of grid-tie, stand-alone and battery backup solar PV installations. General topics of discussion will include aspects involved in the design, sizing and installation of grid-tied solar PV systems. You will see equipment up-close, functioning, dismantle and inspect a roof-top system and see real-world application of solar PV systems. This course is intended to be an introduction to the world of solar electrical PV systems.
