This home study and office practice program provides individuals who are currently employed by an Ophthalmologist the opportunity to further their understanding of the scientific principles of optical eye care and enhance their career path. As the Ophthalmic Assistant program is accredited by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel, this program is well-suited to prepare Ophthalmology students to write the certification exam. From the respective time of registration, learners have 24 weeks to complete HSCI 102 and 24 weeks to complete HSCI 104. As such, students need not interrupt their full-time ophthalmic employment.
