Fall 2020 Convocation

2020 has been a year far from traditional at SAIT. Virtual classes, virtual meetings, and — for the second time in a single year — a virtual convocation ceremony. The graduates of SAIT’s Fall Class of 2020 achieved their goals in a time of adversity and uncertainty — making this fall’s celebration all the more important. As if attaining their goals during a pandemic wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, these newest graduates also accomplished another milestone — joining a community of more than 250,000 SAIT alumni.
Quarter million strong
On Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, students, instructors, friends and family welcomed more than 1,000 members to the SAIT alumni family — a family that officially surpassed 250,000 members this year. SAIT is only the second polytechnic in Canada to build a graduate community of this size.
“I recognize that this is not a traditional convocation ceremony, but that in no way diminishes your accomplishments,” said Dr. David Ross, SAIT President and CEO as he addressed the graduands. “Your tenacity and commitment to your education has been remarkable.”
“SAIT is one of only a handful of Canadian schools to have an alumni network this deep. So along with your credentials, the SAIT alumni family will open doors for you.”
