A registered dietitian with more than 20 years of experience working in community, hospital and post-secondary settings, Stefanie Alloway brings her expertise and passion for nutrition to SAIT as an instructor focused on health coaching and healthy lifestyles.
After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutritional sciences from McGill University and then the University of Alberta, Alloway began work as a clinical dietitian specializing in diabetes and childhood obesity.
Along with consulting and advisor roles, Alloway has also taken positions as a researcher and instructor at the University of Alberta, teaching students about the fundamentals of metabolism, nutritional biochemistry and clinical dietetics.
Alloway joined SAIT in 2016, teaching four courses in the Nutritional for Healthy Lifestyle Program in the School of Health and Public Safety. In 2021, she also took on instruction culinary apprentice program students in the School of Hospitality and Tourism, focusing on nutrition diets and trends.
Looking toward the future, Alloway predicts technology will become more influential in terms of lifestyle and health and nutrition choices.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
