Sponsorship and Giving

Every year thousands of donors, including alumni, friends, and industry partners make an impact by supporting SAIT through financial contributions to our students and programs.

There are many reasons to give to SAIT — to provide the best training for your future workforce to getting your organization's name out there.

Support a project or campaign

Our partners and supporters recognize SAIT is a valuable bridge between industry and the employees of the future. Our corporate and individual partners can contribute to priority projects, campaigns and also work with us to designate and design a gift to match a SAIT need.

Sponsorship opportunities

SAIT offers many sponsorship opportunities, from institutional naming partnerships to event sponsorships. The range of opportunities is extensive, and each offers value and a customized partnership benefits package. We would be pleased to work with you to design a unique sponsorship opportunity to profile your company and provide recognition that is meaningful to you.

Engagement opportunities

A company executive speaking to a class, serving on a SAIT advisory board, being a student project sponsor, or hosting a company event — SAIT corporate partners have access to these opportunities and more. Engaging behind the scenes or in front of a class can help your company build relationships with SAIT students and faculty and connect you to hundreds of SAIT's partners.

Research Support Fund

The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is pleased to acknowledge the Government of Canada and the Research Support Fund (RSF) for sustaining research that creates solutions through innovation.

The RSF assists colleges and universities across Canada with indirect cost expenses related to managing their research enterprise. This support strengthens the federal government's Tri-Council research investment in health sciences, engineering and natural sciences and social sciences and humanities. The annual RSF grant helps institutions conduct federally-funded research projects with first-rate administrative support in world-class facilities outfitted with the top-of-the-line equipment by offsetting indirect costs. Indirect costs can include the operational costs that underpin an institution’s research activities and services that are not specific to individual research grants1.

In 2022/2023 SAIT received a $38,000 RSF grant and applied it to Applied Research and Innovation Services (ARIS) management and administration costs, including salaries for employees who support federally-funded research. ARIS is one of Canada's top applied-research hubs with full-time research staff supporting research proposal and grant application development and pre- and post- award administration and reporting.

Working collaboratively is at the core of SAIT’s applied research enterprise. The RSF grant helps the ARIS team bring together researchers, industry, communities and institutions with students to develop skills and collaborate on new ideas, technologies and products that contribute to the economic and environmental advancements.

With the ongoing support from the annual RSF grant, ARIS can continue toward achieving its goal to be a Canadian applied research hub that is known as a leader in the country, supported by students, partners and the community to help build a stronger future through novel research.
