Training and certifications
Confined Space
This eight-hour course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills of how to work safely in a confined space. In addition to a classroom session that discusses the theory of proper confined space work, participants will also perform a series of practical exercises using our confined space training vessel.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certification card.
Ground Disturbance
The four-hour course is designed for personnel who are involved with a ground disturbance operation. The course will cover the various rules, regulations and procedures that are pertinent for ground disturbance work.
A certification card will be issued upon successful completion of this course.
H2S Alive
This course follows the Alberta Petroleum Industry Training Services (Enform) standards and will be led by a certified H 2S Alive instructor. Participants will acquire knowledge through several case studies, actively testy H 2S and setting up and using emergency breathing apparatuses for rescue.
Participants will be issued an H 2S Alive certification card upon successful completion of this eight-hour course.
Standard First Aid and CPR
This course is through the Canadian Red Cross. This 16-hour Alberta-based course is spread out over two consecutive days and includes CPR Level C skills and certification. This course provides comprehensive First Aid and CPR techniques for those who need training for work requirements, or who want more knowledge on how to respond to emergencies in the workplace (see Advanced First Aid for additional courses).
Safe Driving
This 10-hour course — six hours in-class instruction and four hours in-vehicle defensive driving — is specially designed to meet the needs of participants who will be traveling to or working in the field.
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
This four-hour course will equip participants to describe the classification system, documentation, labelling, placarding, training requirements, recognition, and incident reporting of dangerous goods.
A certification card will be issued to your team members upon successful completion of the course — for classes 2 - 6, 8, and 9 under road transport.
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
This four-hour course will provide information to participants about the classification system, the labels used by suppliers and workplaces and the significance of the information on the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
A certification card will be issued upon the successful completion of this course to your team members.
