Training preparation courses for apprentices
PREP 145: Orientation for Apprentices (online)
PREP 145 is a free study skills course for apprentices. Discover your learning style, develop memory techniques, learn effective ways to conquer your modules, get tips on how to write multiple choice tests and prepare for your apprenticeship exam.

MATH 145: Math Prep for Apprentices (online)
Build your fundamental math skills in algebra and geometry with this free course for apprentices. Course participation will be self-paced. Registration will be capped at 30 apprentices.

Math and reading skills assessment
Take our free online math skills assessment quiz and/or reading skills assessment quiz to check your current skill level. Based on the results, we can give you suggestions for what else you can do to prepare for training.
SAIT Start — Log in and let's go
SAIT Start is an interactive introduction to all things SAIT. Prepare for your training period ahead through a series of modules covering everything from academic success and money matters to support services, and health and well-being. Plus, get an idea of what to expect and what’s expected of you at SAIT. Create a new student account and choose "apprentice" from the student type drop down menu. Complete SAIT Start!
Paying for your apprenticeship
A variety of financial supports are available to help you plan ahead and cover the costs associated with your training. Find out more about paying for your apprenticeship — tuition and fees, financial aid options, grants and awards, Employment Insurance, and more.
Get your class schedule
Log into mySAIT using your SAIT ID number and date of birth (dd-mm-yy) to access your schedule. Your complete schedule will be available two business days prior to your first day of classes.
Return to Campus Safety Orientation
If you’re coming to campus, before you arrive you must complete the Return to Campus Safety Orientation. You will be automatically registered in this four-module course in Brightspace (D2L). You’ll find the modules in ORNT 118: Orientation. Watch for ORNT 118 in your course list.
Completion of the Return to Campus Safety Orientation is a priority for learners attending some or all of their studies in-person on campus. If you’re coming to campus and can’t access the course in advance of your first day, please contact your Academic Chair.
The course takes about 20 minutes to complete. Make sure you select "exit" (at the bottom right of the screen) once you finish each module to ensure your completion registers to your transcript.

Get your student ID card
SAIT ID cards will be available from your instructor when you return to campus. Payment receipts for courses and tuition may be accepted by vendors offering discounts in the interim.
Accessibility and accommodations
Connect with an Accessibility Services advisor as soon as possible if you need to set up an accommodation or get support for a health condition or disability while you’re an apprentice. They can also help with funding applications for adaptive equipment, services and technology.
