7 SAIT presents for easy giving
Stay at SAIT for holiday shopping
From stylish swag to the gift of education, there's something for everyone on your list. Here are seven ideas:
1) Culinary concepts
Treat a loved one to a SAIT cooking class. Offerings range from baking cakes and artisan breads, acquiring solid knife skills and learning about international cuisines — such as Vietnamese or South African — to the art of mixing a tasty cocktail or making sausage. Cooking classes take place at our main campus or downtown at the Culinary Campus. Find whatever they're hungry for.
2) Set them up with Trojan treasure
Complete with the Trojans new streamlined logo, show your support for our favourite home team by shopping for swag at the SAIT Bookstore. There are tuques and towels, Frisbees and basketballs, plus workout gear for those New Year's resolutions.
3) Educate, empower and excite the kids/teens in your life
Skip the toys and offer up a chance to build robots, make movies, sleuth clues like a detective, explore the art of investing, and much more through SAIT's children and youth programming. There are a variety of program options for Grades 1 to 12, including summer and spring break camps, evening youth programs, plus Professional Development and Teacher's Convention day camps.
4) Catalyst style
Showcase your SAIT pride with cosy sweatshirts and pants emblazoned with our signature catalyst symbol — sure to keep everyone warm on those cold holiday nights. The SAIT Bookstore has lots of colours and options on hand to make sure you find the perfect fit.
5) Appetizing offerings
SAIT's Market Place is much more than a place to grab an afternoon goodie or something for lunch. With culinary students making breads, chocolates, jarred sauces and spreads, you can easily assemble a gift basket — perfect as a hostess gift — for those loved ones who prefer an edible treat over a pair of socks. Bonus: stock up on chutneys and other preserves for a festive cheese and charcuterie plate when guests come over.
6) Give the gift of learning
There are hundreds of learning options offered through Continuing Education at SAIT — so there's something for even the toughest people on your list. Give them a chance to learn more about contemporary literature, how to maintain a motorcycle or to up their vacation snapshot game. Explore courses.
7) Dinner at the Highwood
Give someone a night off from cooking — and doing dishes — by getting them a gift card for a meal at The Highwood. For about half the cost of a business lunch downtown, you can have a three-course meal, while giving back to SAIT culinary students who are both cooking behind the scenes and serving out front. If you're lucky, maybe the gift recipient will return the favour and invite you to join them! Buy gift cards at SAIT eating outlets before they close for the holidays, including The Market Place, 4Nines, The Tastemarket by SAIT and Culinary Campus.
