#SAIT100 Photo Mosaic becomes permanent installation on campus
It's official - the #SAIT100 Photo Mosaic is complete.
Over 445 days, 10,000 SAIT memories — your memories — were added to Twitter, Instagram and the centennial website. From convocation ceremonies and centennial celebrations to the unique and ordinary moments in between, together we built one incredible picture
"We needed 10,000 photos to complete the mosaic, which was a bit daunting in the beginning," says Cathy Downey, Director, centennial project. "We ended up reaching over 11,000 images. It's fantastic — the SAIT community really came through."
A gift to future generations
Once a digital collection, the mosaic has now also become a 20-foot by eight-foot permanent installation in SAIT's Irene Lewis Atrium. The legacy piece will serve as a reminder of our centennial year for future generations.
Find your photo, eat a hotdog, win prizes
Over a thousand students, staff and faculty attended the giant reveal, which took place on Thursday, April 13 and included free hot dogs and Pepsi products for the first 1,200 people, an appearance by 90.3 Amp radio remote team and, you guessed it, prizes.
