Employees shout success for SAIT Family Campaign
“Over 286 faculty and staff participated in one way or another to the campaign – nearly 100 of those were first-time participators,” says Concetta Sonnenberg, Annual Giving Development Officer for SAIT Alumni and Development. “SAIT really came together in a big way to better the lives of our students.”
Shout-Out to a colleague was a new addition to the campaign this year. Employees paid $5 to send messages of thanks and congratulations to their co-workers that were posted on SAITNow – the employee intranet. A total of 272 Shout-Outs were sent and $1,500 was raised. All money raised will go directly to a newly-created SAIT Family Campaign Peer Recognition Award for students. The first student will be receiving the award in the Fall 2015 semester.
“The award will be given to student who is entering their first year of any degree, diploma or certificate program at SAIT,” says Sonnenberg. “Preference will be given to a student with a parent who currently works at SAIT, giving SAIT faculty and staff another opportunity to support their peers who may have children attending school here.”
In addition to the Shout-Out initiative, faculty and staff are also able to contribute to the Family Campaign by giving one-time or monthly donations to the area of need of their choice.
Family Campaign Carnival
The Founding Builders Home Lab was transformed into an old-fashioned carnival on June 16 to celebrate and thank all of the faculty and staff who contributed to the SAIT Family Campaign in 2015.
