Student support services continue to be available during campus closure in response to COVID-19

In addition to moving course delivery online, student support services at SAIT have also transitioned online.

Though the online setting may feel different, your success throughout your course, term and program is still our priority. Watch for online workshops and webinars, and reach out for support when needed — we’ve got you covered.

Admissions and advising

Office of the Registrar

We’re experiencing high call and message volumes and appreciate your patience, especially during this unique time. Get quick answers to common questions and get in touch:

  • Check the Knowledge Base.
  • Review frequently asked questions about Fall 2020 delivery.
  • Request a call back. During regular office hours, text the word 'SAIT' to 587.318.2823 to join our virtual call-back system or go to your App Store and download QLess to join the queue. 
  • Submit a Freshdesk ticket and you’ll be contacted by email. Once a ticket number is generated, your request has been received and you are in the queue.

If you’ve already reached out to us, there’s no need to follow up — you will hear back.

Academic Coaching and Tutoring

Appointments
Phone and virtual appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. Call 403.284.8082 or email academic.coaching@sait.ca or tutoring@sait.ca to make an appointment.

Academic Success Seminars
From study skills to time management, and from taking better notes to writing exams like a pro, success seminars are a great way to connect with an academic coach 
— check the schedule.  

Tutoring schedule
Tutoring is available for a variety of courses. Check the online tutoring schedule, then register and attend through SAIT’s TuberEdu website

Writing support
Looking for feedback on a writing assignment? Email writing.help@sait.ca.   

Reg Erhardt Library

Chat with the library online Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, and Saturday, 1 – 4 pm. Librarians are also taking appointments via video, voice or chat — make an appointment.

Transfer Options

The Transfer Options Coordinator is available to assist students via email advising and audio/video conferencing Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4 pm. Please contact transfer.options@sait.ca or make an appointment online

Bookstore

The SAIT Bookstore is temporarily closed, but students can still order course materials online. Find what you need and have it shipped directly or purchase eBook versions of textbooks, if available. Contact sait@bkstr.com for more information.

Accessibility Services 

Get support through accommodations and services by connecting with an Accessibility Services advisor. Phone and online appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. Call 403.774.5093 or email accessibility.services@sait.ca to set up an appointment.

Money matters

Financial Advising

Contact Financial Advising for support and expert advice on loans, budgeting, Alberta Works funding and more. Phone and video appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. Call 403.284.7054 or email funding@sait.ca to set up an appointment.

Applications for Student Awards are now open. If you need assistance applying for student awards, please email scholarships@sait.ca.

Career wise

Career Advancement Services

The job search resource library and job board are accessible to current students and alumni through My Career Hub. Career Advisors will also be available for virtual appointments including email resumé reviews, practice interviews, LinkedIn profile reviews and career search techniques.

Career Advancement Services are also hosting monthly Virtual Career Conversations.

Health and well-being

SAIT Health Clinic

SAIT Health Clinic doctors are available for in-person and phone appointments. Call 403.284.8666 before visitng the clinic. All visitors will be screened in advance of entry.

Take the  Alberta Health Services online self-assessment to determine if you should be tested for COVID-19. Call 8-1-1 for any health related concerns.

By observing this process, you will help protect patients currently in the clinic who may be pregnant, have ongoing respiratory issues or compromised immune systems.

Interfaith Centre

The Interfaith Centre is a community hub on campus — and online. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 am 4 pm by text, phone, email and video messaging. Contact a chaplain.

Counselling

Student Development and Counselling

This is a difficult and uncertain time, and your mental health is important. Student Development and Counselling is available for support by phone or online. Call 403.284.7023, Monday to Friday, 9 am 4 pm.

Peer Mentorship Program

Be part of the SAIT community and gain a cocurricular record while gaining skills. Whether you’re starting at SAIT and could use some advice or looking ahead to graduation, being involved with peer mentorship can have a huge impact. Join the Peer Mentorship Program and contact us by email at mentorship@sait.ca with questions.
