SAIT tackles today’s “skills gap” through the IBM Skills Academy
SAIT offers IBM Skills Academy certification, including unique training opportunity in blockchain technology
SAIT will be addressing the tech industry's "skills gap" and advance higher education through the IBM Skills Academy.
The IBM Skills Academy, a professional technical certification program for universities and colleges in areas of emerging technologies, is an initiative aiming to ensure curricula aligns with IT industry needs and trends.
Through SAIT's School of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), the IBM Skills Academy will help aspiring professionals prepare for a career in the IT industry, build local capability consistent with international standards in new areas and provide an environment for continuous technical updating.
The program at SAIT covers several career tracks that will prepare students for sought-after job positions in the IT industry. Available SAIT courses include Business Intelligence Analyst, Predictive Analytics Modeler and Blockchain Fundamentals, with more to come.
SAIT has taken a leadership position as the IBM Blockchain Hub for Training and is currently the only Canadian institution to deliver the IBM Skills Academy Blockchain Fundamentals course.

SAIT students will have access to an "Educational Portal" hosted by IBM where they can find elearning, multimedia and classroom- or lectures-based course content, along with assessment quizzes and the certification tests.
SAIT students will also be granted access to an "Educational Cloud Lab" provided by IBM where they can find all the tracks, software tools, tutorials and other relevant material to get hands on with the latest technologies for each certification track.
