Stephen BarryStephen Barry is a member of the teaching faculty at SAIT. He currently instructs various Math, Biology and Physics courses in the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Business Administration Degrees.

Nominated by his students on several occasions for Instructor Excellence Awards, Stephen has also received a Doctoral Training Award from the National Canadian Research Training Program from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, The McConnell Entrance Scholarship from McGill University, and the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship from the Government of Alberta.

Before joining the faculty team at SAIT, Stephen was an instructor at Grant MacEwan University (Olds College Campus) and Columbia College (Calgary). Before this, he worked as a technical writer/editor for numerous biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in Montreal.

Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology and a Bachelor of Science from McGill University. Born and raised in Calgary, he is dedicated to successfully integrating science within society. Stephen is fluent in French and English.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
