Resumé and Cover Letter Writing
Learn to get an employer's attention and obtain an interview with your self-marketing documents such as your resumé, cover letter, and reference list. Learn about industry-specific keywords, where to include them, and the importance of customization.
Discover how to effectively research your new employer and prepare for interviews in this workshop. Use an interview planning sheet and learn the S-T-A-R approach to behavioural-based questions. Discover strong questions to ask the employer and how to answer "What are your weaknesses?" or "How much money do you expect?"
Resumé Strategies for New Canadians and International Students
Learn how to take your international education/experience and relate it to the Canadian job market. Attend this workshop designed specifically to address the concerns of newcomers to Canada, such as whether or not you should use your Canadian nickname, list your overseas education and experience, and why you should document your Canadian experience even if it’s not in your desired industry.
