SAIT Summer Camps spark curiosity and careers

Four young SAIT campers sit around a table. Their focus is past the camera. One of the students is raising their hand to ask a question.

You’re never too old to learn a new skill — or too young!

Your kids are out of school for two months, but you — like many adults — probably don’t have the summer off. Enter SAIT Summer Camps. Forget what you think you know about day camps — you won’t find any musty mat forts or wobbly wheelie boards here. Kids are actually excited to be on campus, and that makes getting out the door each morning a whole lot easier.

Youth from Grades 4 to 12 come to our camps to light up their minds (and, yes, sometimes welding torches). Whether their hobbies include learning how to code the next Game of the Year, planning their Dragon’s Den pitch or dreaming of taking their go-cart skills from Mario Kart to the real world, SAIT has a camp for them.

Through real-world, hands-on activities, campers embrace their interests and find opportunities for insight, creativity and career exploration. They make summer memories, develop leadership skills, flex new critical thinking muscles and push the boundaries of what they can create.

Teens can also get a taste of possible professional pathways before taking the next step in their journey toward post-secondary school and careers. They can even start to answer the age-old question, “How do I adult?” through a unique Adulting 101 camp.

Join us here at SAIT, and explore something new this summer!

Two SAIT campers look through microscopes. Behind them, the wall is decorated with the shape of beakers. In front of them are four glass jars, each filled with a coloured liquid.

🆕 Keeping it current: New camps

Kitchen enthusiasts can learn hands-on culinary skills in Healthy Kitchen Creations. Campers will practice recipes, use common appliances and learn how to make healthy meals for themselves and their families.

Finance enthusiasts can graduate from piggy banks to stock portfolios in Investment Masters. Campers will build mock portfolios, learn about the stock market and make investments using practice cash.

Active youth can learn about the foundations of sports nutrition in Fitness and Fuel. They’ll be challenged with plenty of activities while also learning what their body needs to sustain itself healthily for an active lifestyle.

Alert! — a fierce storm has disrupted a colony living on Mars. Using supply chain management and logistics skills, SAIT campers in Supply Chain Commanders will get vital resources to the Red Planet to save the day.

We’ve also added two camps under our Exploring Trades, Welding umbrella:

But there are way, way, way more offerings than that! Check out all summer camps for 2024.

💼 Things parents will love about SAIT Summer Camps

We could talk your ear off about all the fun youths have at SAIT, but there’s a lot to love for parents, too. Check out resources for you during camp week.

  1. Hot lunch program and pizza day: If meal prep is taking too much time out of your day, consider our lunch program, which includes daily hot lunch options, fresh fruit, a dessert, and juice or milk. Don’t need five lunches, but can’t deny someone pizza? You can sign up your child for Pizza Day only.
  2. Bursary program: Camp bursaries are available to families on the basis of financial need and cover a full week of camp and our hot lunch program.
  3. Before-and-after care: Working from 8 to 5? We’ve got your childcare covered. With our in-person before and aftercare program, camp participants can arrive as early as 7:30 am and stay until 5 pm — no extra registration, no extra cost.
