The Indigenous Student Success Program (ISSP) supports Indigenous graduates across Alberta in finding meaningful and sustainable employment. Through personalized guidance, employer connections and career development support, we help graduates transition from education to employment with confidence.
Delivered by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in partnership with Vancouver Island University, the ISSP is rooted in care, community and Indigenous informed practices.

The ISSP supports Indigenous graduates as they navigate their career journey while helping employers build inclusive and culturally responsive workplaces.
With support from the McConnell Foundation, the program focuses on creating pathways to employment, strengthening Indigenous representation in the workforce and fostering long-term success for graduates and employers.

Frequently asked questions
To participate in the program, you must:
- Be graduating from a participating post-secondary institution or be a recent graduate in Alberta
- Self-identify as an Indigenous person in Canada
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Have an up-to-date resume and cover letter

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
