Life at SAIT
Lajpreet joined the School of Business in 2023 and teaches administrative information management courses, including Spreadsheet Essentials, Advanced Spreadsheet Applications and Database Software for Business.
Teaching has been a very rewarding learning curve for Lajpreet. As instructor, she values building relationships with students, encouraging them to think for themselves, and continuous exploration with her teaching methodologies. She is a passionate believer in problem solving and self-growth and includes these values in her teaching practices.
Lajpreet’s passion for numbers has remained unfettered. She particularly appreciates how numbers can be simple yet have the power to address complex problems in the world. True to her passion, Lajpreet has introduced various Excel functionalities and pioneered onboarding of other technologies and process improvement practices in her teaching career and many of her industry roles.
Outside teaching hours, Lajpreet enjoys painting, reading, cooking, singing and solving puzzles.
Education
Lajpreet has a bachelor's in computer science, statistics and mathematics from Punjabi University, India, and an MBA from Thapar University, India.
Professional Accomplishments
Before teaching, Lajpreet worked as an Operations Coordinator and Information Officer at SAIT. She has also worked in the post-secondary, marketing, project management and administration spaces in India.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
