Dr. Hamid Rajani has devoted his career to pioneering research and innovation in materials science and advanced manufacturing. With more than 15 years of experience in industry and academia, he leads a multidisciplinary team of researchers at the Centre for Innovation and Research in Advanced Manufacturing and Materials (CIRAMM) in SAIT’s Applied Research and Innovation Services (ARIS) Hub.
CIRAMM was established under Hamid’s leadership and has since expanded to include the Alberta Aerospace Research Centre (AARC), the Automation and Robotics Technologies (ART) Hub and the Alternative Construction Technologies (ACT) Hub.
These initiatives integrate materials science, data science and advanced manufacturing to support multi-sector research and innovation in aerospace, energy, manufacturing and construction. As a designated NATO DIANA testing centre, CIRAMM collaborates with national and international partners to develop dual-use technologies.
Hamid envisions materials science, automation, artificial intelligence and transdisciplinary collaboration as key drivers of future research and innovation. He emphasizes the importance of strong partnerships between industry and academia to address real-world challenges.
