Changes Are Coming To Your SAIT Digital Identity

On Monday, June 23, SAIT will enforce student digital identity lifecycle as per AD.2.15.2 Student Digital Identity Management.
What does this mean for you?
Once you have completed a course or program at SAIT, your Microsoft digital identity will change to a limited online-only Microsoft 365 license four months after the end date of the last course. Your access will continue to downgrade based on the following timelines.
- If you have no SAIT course activity for 12 months, your digital identity will be deactivated. This means you will no longer have access to student electronic resources, including email and online services.
- After deactivation, your digital identity, including mailboxes and all storage, will be held for a 90-day retention period. During this time, you can still recover any important information.
- After the 90-day retention period, your digital identity will be permanently deleted and will not be recoverable.
To ensure you do not lose any important files or data, we recommend the following actions:
- Back up files - Save all important files and documents to an external drive or cloud storage service, including course materials and course work you would like to save from Brightspace.
- Personal devices - Transfer any essential information to your personal devices.
- Email backup - Forward important emails to a personal email account.
- Student Azure subscriptions - Backup any critical data or transfer your subscription to a different Microsoft account.
- Update your contact information - We encourage you to stay connected and update your contact information to continue receiving information on alumni benefits and news from SAIT.
Please refer to the Microsoft Knowledge Base article for detailed information on application access and features related to licensing.
We encourage you to review the detailed policies and procedures for additional details.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
