Exploring Skilled Trades for Girls (ESTFG)
Exploring Skilled Trades for Girls (ESTFG) is an engaging one day event created to inspire female students in Grades 8 and 9 to discover the exciting possibilities within skilled trades and technologies.
Hosted at SAIT’s Aldred Centre, the event showcases the many educational pathways and rewarding career opportunities available in the trades. Throughout the day, students will take part in hands-on workshops, interactive demonstrations, and engaging sessions held across SAIT’s campus.
These immersive experiences are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and provide meaningful insight into real-world trade and technology careers, helping students envision themselves in these in-demand and impactful fields.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
