The Blue Seal Certificate is a credential issued by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) that recognizes business competencies gained through education and work experience. It is designed for tradespeople who want to strengthen their business knowledge and leadership skills. SAIT Continuing Education and Professional Studies (Con Ed) is an AIT-recognized training provider that offers business and leadership courses that may support learners pursuing the Blue Seal Certificate.

What is the Blue Seal Certificate?

The Blue Seal Certificate (also known as Achievement in Business Competencies) acknowledges business-related learning in areas such as communication, leadership, supervision, finance, and organizational behaviour. AIT does not provide pre-approval of individual courses. Eligibility for Blue Seal credit is assessed only when an individual applies for the Blue Seal Certificate.

Minimum training-hour requirement

To be eligible for the AIT Blue Seal Certificate, you must complete at least 150 hours of business‑related study through one or more recognized training providers, such as SAIT Con Ed.

Applying for the Blue Seal Certificate
