Computers and laptops

For the best technical user experience in the online portion of your course, we recommend:

  • your computer meets or exceeds the standard hardware and software requirements
  • you use a high-speed internet connection (recommended 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload)
  • you have a functioning webcam and microphone.

Some courses may have more specific or additional hardware/software requirements. Please review your course page before your first day to confirm any unique technology requirements.

Signing in for the first time

Once you've completed your course registration, within 48 hours, you'll receive:

  • a SAIT student nine-digit ID
  • a SAIT student “edu” email address

Your student confirmation and new email address (firstname.lastname@edu.sait.ca) and default password will be sent to your personal (or preferred) email address.

This information will also be posted to your student account profile for reference.

Online learning tools and software

There are lots of tools and tech available for online learning. Your instructors will aim to use common tools/platforms as much as possible and will address program or course-specific requirements on or before your first day.

Your Continuing Education student account is where you can find your current and past enrolment transactions and receipts, as well as course details and updates such as date, time and location changes.

Here you’ll also be able to track your declared certificate programs to completion and self-print statements of grade documents.

All students are assigned a SAIT email account. Your account is automatically activated within one day after you register for a Continuing Education course.

All communications from your course instructors and institutional emails will be sent to your student email account. Emails from our Advising team will be sent to your personal/preferred email address.

Not getting our emails? Check your spam/junk mail folders. Consider adding ConEdAdvising@sait.ca to your approved sender list.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
