What is a SAIT Micro-credential digital badge?
A SAIT Micro-credential digital badge is a visual, verifiable and shareable asset you can use to share your learning achievement or credential.
More than just visual recognition, digital badges add credibility by linking to metadata that provides context and verification for your credentials, detailing your achievements, what you did to earn them.
In short, digital badges are a trusted and easily verifiable way to showcase your skills and stand out.
Do I have to take a full course to earn a Micro-credential or badge?
Not necessarily – you may choose to take just the assessment to validate your skills and to earn a digital badge. If you choose to take the full course, you can earn a digital badge by achieving a high academic standing on the assessment.
Check eligible courses to find the minimum letter grade required to be issued the digital badge. The minimum letter grade assigned depends on the course and is based on the SAIT grading system.
Where and how can I share my SAIT Micro-credential badge?
SAIT has partnered with Credly, an industry-leading platform for digital credentials. This secure platform allows you to share the badges you earn with your network for ultimate recognition of your achievement.
When you successfully complete a SAIT Micro-credential course with the required letter grade, you’ll receive an email from Credly with steps to claim your digital badge and set up your account.
From there, you can then easily share your badge online – post it on your socials, embed it on your website and in your email signature, link to it on your resume and add it to your business card.
As an employer, how do I know what skills are developed through a SAIT Micro-credential?
SAIT Micro-credentials come with digital badges that can be shared on professional networking sites like LinkedIn, attached to resumes or added to email signatures. Employers can verify these badges by clicking on the shared digital badges to confirm the credential and review metadata and skills developed.
Can I use my SAIT Micro-credential to earn a certificate?
Yes, you can apply eligible SAIT Micro-credentials towards earning a certificate and in some cases, even receive advanced credit toward a diploma or degree.
