Overview

Problem Solving and Decision Making will provide you with the tools, frameworks, and strategies needed to approach, analyze, and resolve complex problems and make sound decisions in diverse workplace settings. Through practical application and interactive exercises, you'll explore proven models such as the Cynefin Framework, Eisenhower Matrix, Six Thinking Hats, A3 Problem Solving, and the OODA Loop.

You'll examine both personal and collaborative problem-solving styles, integrate ethical considerations, and adapt decision-making tools to real-world challenges. By the end of the course, you'll have enhanced critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and strategic decision-making capabilities.

Upon successful completion of this course, you'll be able to:

  • apply structured frameworks to define and analyze problems
  • evaluate personal and collaborative problem-solving styles and approaches
  • apply appropriate problem-solving models to workplace challenges
  • assess ethical considerations in problem-solving and decision-making processes
  • evaluate decision-making models and techniques for various organizational contexts
  • tailor and adapt problem-solving and decision-making tools for team dynamics and situational needs.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
