Overview
Workplace problems are rarely straightforward. They often involve competing priorities, incomplete information, time pressure, and multiple stakeholders. Problem Solving and Decision Making helps you approach these challenges with structure, clarity, and sound judgment.
This SAIT Micro-credential course is designed for professionals who regularly face complex workplace issues and need effective ways to define problems, evaluate options, and make responsible decisions. You’ll explore a range of proven problem‑solving and decision‑making frameworks used in organizational settings, including approaches for urgent, ambiguous, and strategic situations.
The course emphasizes applied learning through hands‑on exercises, case‑based activities, and real‑world examples. You’ll examine your own problem‑solving style, practice working with others to address challenges, and apply tools such as Cynefin, the Eisenhower Matrix, Six Thinking Hats, A3 problem‑solving, and the OODA Loop. Ethical reasoning and critical thinking are integrated throughout, helping you consider impacts, risks, and consequences when making decisions.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to analyze workplace problems, select and apply appropriate frameworks, and adapt decision‑making approaches to different contexts, team dynamics, and organizational needs.
This course is ideal if you:
