Overview

Transitioning from technical work to leading people requires new skills and perspectives. The Applied Management and Leadership Certificate of Achievement provides practical, workplace-focused training to help you build confidence and capability as a leader.

Part of SAIT's Leading Beyond Any Title™ leadership suite, this certificate offers a flexible path for aspiring and experienced leaders to strengthen their management knowledge and leadership impact. You can choose courses from two leadership focus areas and one general business category, allowing you to build a well-rounded mix of leadership and management skills that fit your goals:

  • Influential leadership focus – sharpen your ability to drive decisions, lead change, and communicate with impact
  • People-centred leadership focus – lead with empathy, develop others, and build high-performing teams
  • General business and management – strengthen foundational knowledge, HR skills and operational insight across diverse workplaces

Courses are taught by instructors with extensive industry experience who bring real-world insight to both classroom and online learning. Each course emphasizes practical application through interactive, scenario-based activities. You can choose in-person, short-format classes at SAIT’s main campus or complete equivalent courses online at your own pace.

Upon completion, you’ll have a strong foundation in leadership, communication, and management, and the skills to apply them effectively in your workplace.

This program is ideal if you:

  • are a mid-career professional seeking to expand your leadership skills
  • are a skilled tradesperson preparing to move into supervision, management, or entrepreneurship
  • are a mid- to late-career newcomer to Canada building familiarity with Canadian business practices
  • want flexible, applied learning that leads to a SAIT Certificate of Achievement.

There are no eligibility requirements for this program. Any prior or current education and work experience from any industry or sector will enhance your mid-career professional development journey.
