To meet growing demand for these skills, ServiceNow Foundations offers comprehensive, hands-on System Administrator training online, delivered by accredited instructors using official curriculum through SAIT’s Academic Partnership with ServiceNow.

You'll work in authentic IT Service Management (ITSM) environments through instructor-led live virtual sessions, supported by weekly drop-ins. Through interactive labs and curated video content, you’ll simulate enterprise conditions while building practical skills in Now Platform navigation, workflow automation, secure data management, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles.

As you develop these competencies, you'll apply them in a capstone consulting project — designing and presenting a complete enterprise workflow solution. This experience demonstrates your technical expertise and builds valuable consulting and presentation skills for your professional portfolio. Beyond technical training, you’ll gain career-focused support with interview coaching, resume guidance, and networking opportunities through industry guest speakers.

Upon completing all course assessments, including a simulated certification exam, you'll be prepared to pursue professional certification, positioning you for potential entry-level to mid-level roles in automation and IT service management.

To succeed in this foundations-level technical course, you should have basic computer literacy, an interest in improving business processes, and curiosity about how digital tools support enterprise workflows. While prior experience in IT, customer service, administration, product or project management can be helpful, it's not required. 

This course is designed for learners who bring natural curiosity about technology, attention to detail, and logical problem-solving skills. These qualities will position you well to master the course material and advance into specialized ServiceNow roles. 

Upon successful completion of this course, you'll be able to:

  • identify the industry application of ServiceNow to develop a career path in digital transformation
  • navigate and apply core Now Platform features to meet organizational and user needs 
  • manage user roles and access controls to support secure system operations 
  • import, transform, and maintain data using forms, lists, and update sets 
  • create dashboards and reports using data visualization tools in ServiceNow 
  • apply Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-aligned ITSM principles within the platform to solve operational challenges 
  • design and automate workflows using Flow Designer, Configuration Rules, and Decision Tables 
  • integrate external systems using Integration Hub to extend platform functionality 
  • collaborate with peers in a simulated work environment to apply knowledge gained during the course through a project presentation.

Upon successful course completion, you’ll receive a ServiceNow exam voucher — valid for one year — that allows you to take the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) mainline certification exam, which is administered and proctored by ServiceNow.

Passing the CSA exam earns you the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator credential, downloadable certificate, and a shareable digital badge via Credly. You'll maintain certification through periodic non-proctored Delta Maintenance Exams.

Note that CSA certification provides the foundation for advanced ServiceNow training and specialized roles. CSA is required for the ServiceNow Application Developer certification. It is not required for the ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certification but is recommended.
