Overview

Discover the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry in this non-technical introduction. Learn about the properties of LNG, its worldwide production and the Canadian LNG industry.

This course is beneficial for those preparing to enter the LNG industry and serves as a valuable complement to our Gas Process Operations certificate.

As part of our LNG mico-credential series, our experienced instructors will provide support as you work through this self-directed course.

This course is made possible by funding from the Government of Alberta. 

You must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time you start this course. 

Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • describe the production of liquefied natural gas
  • discuss the LNG industry.

All coursework, including the final exam, must be completed as outlined in the course schedule and no later than the course end date.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
