Overview
Need more practice? The NDT Radiographic Testing Review is a refresher course designed to reinforce key theoretical concepts and practical techniques in preparation for the NRCan CGSB Radiographic Testing (RT) Level 1 practical certification exam.
Increase your confidence and reinforce your RT skills using specialized equipment in a safe, supervised lab environment. The course includes a guided activity book to walk you through the method, with instructors available to provide mentorship and support as needed.
You may use all or part of the eight-hour lab time for focused practice.
You must be at least 18 years old to take this course.
We recommend that you have completed an NRCan-approved course or training in the NDT Radiographic (RT) method before registering for this course.
Upon successful completion of this course, you'll be able to:
- identify and correctly set up standard RT equipment and accessories
- review safe operating practices and care for RT equipment
- follow and adhere to specific radiographic techniques for the performance of Level 1 tasks
- perform exposure calculations and demonstrate proper film handling and processing
- evaluate radiographs for image quality, density, and definition
- interpret radiographic images to identify common weld discontinuities and determine accept/reject criteria.

Additional supplies
You'll need to bring/wear CSA-approved steel-toed boots during lab time.
SAIT will provide the NDT RT equipment and any additional supplies needed.
