Looking to jumpstart a career in the automotive industry? SAIT’s Lubrication and Tire Technician course will give you the hands-on training and foundational knowledge you need. In just 12 hours, you’ll learn essential shop safety, workplace communication, and key automotive services.

Designed for adult learners with no prior experience who are interested in entry-level roles as tire and lubrication specialists, you’ll focus on practical skills and real-world applications. In this in-person course delivered at our SAIT main campus automotive training facility, you’ll learn basic vehicle inspections, fluid checks, lubrication, oil changes, and tire service including rotation, replacement, balancing, and inflation and build your confidence in a professional shop setting.

This course is ideal if you:

  • are looking for job-ready skills that employers value
  • want a recognized credential to strengthen your resume.

Upon successful completion of this course, you'll be able to:

  • apply workshop safety practices at all times
  • communicate effectively with customers and co-workers in an automotive workplace
  • apply electronic and paper vehicle service information to a specific job
  • perform a basic vehicle inspection as required for tire or lubrication service
  • perform a basic automotive fluid check, lubrication and oil change
  • demonstrate proper procedures for tire rotation, replacement, balancing and inflation.

Upon successful completion of this non-credit course, you’ll receive an electronic copy of your official transcript. You’ll also be able to self-print a proof of completion document from your Continuing Education student account.
