Overview
Developing a detailed plan is critical to delivering successful deep energy retrofits. Deep Energy Retrofit Planning is an advanced course in the Deep Energy Retrofit certificate, providing professionals with the skills to create comprehensive, client-focused retrofit plans.
This micro-credential course covers gathering essential home data, coordinating with experts, and selecting products and systems for walls, foundations, roofs, attic assemblies, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Emphasis is placed on iterative planning, integrating design, performance modelling, cost, and homeowner priorities. Multi-stage retrofit planning is also addressed to balance performance, cost, and resilience.
You’ll engage in 24 hours of learning over three weeks, combining instructor-led virtual sessions with online self-study. Interactive discussions, assignments, and applied exercises help you translate planning knowledge into actionable retrofit strategies.
