Overview
Moisture is the largest cause of failure in building envelopes. If left unchecked, moisture leads to rot, biological growth like mould, and costly structural damage — problems that can turn a new build into a long-term liability.
Our Moisture Control Certificate of Completion, a collaboration between SAIT and the Professional Home Builders Association (PHBI), gives you the tools to prevent these issues before they start.
This program combines theory and real-world building science to give you the skills and knowledge to protect your projects. You’ll gain a deep understanding of moisture balance, site drainage, and best practices for foundations, walls, and roofing. Learn how to spot risks, solve problems, and build homes that last.
Designed for builders, contractors, architects, and inspectors and aligned with industry best practices, this program meets the requirements needed for you to become a Builder Member of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program, making it a valuable credential for building professionals. The self-paced online theory and site simulation exercises offer flexibility while delivering industry-relevant knowledge.
Register today and future-proof your skills, protect your reputation, and ensure durability in every home you work on.
