Overview
This course introduces you to the environmental legal and ethical requirements related to sustainable building and construction. The course focuses on green building project management, certification programs, compliance standards and the impact of green methods on your project timeline, cost and the client.
You'll be introduced to green building features that address energy efficiency, building science and environmental concerns related to the construction industry. This course helps builders recognize and evaluate economic, social and environmental impacts of sustainable development.
Topics covered include:
- leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) environmental rating compliance program for new construction and existing buildings
- site assessment/environmental considerations
- how to source, outline and rate properties of a green building product specification
- evaluation of Environmental New Construction Management Plans
