Overview
Advanced Commercial Construction Estimating focuses on the advanced estimating and cost control skills required for commercial construction projects and concludes the Construction Estimating and Bid Preparation Certificate of Achievement. In this course, you’ll examine how construction project management principles support effective estimating, budgeting, and bid preparation.
Through hands-on practice, you’ll learn to use cost reporting systems to evaluate project performance against budgets, manage project changes in collaboration with other business units, and compile complete digital and paper estimates and bid documents for commercial building projects.
Interactive, self-paced online learning provides practical tools and resources you can apply immediately on the job. You’ll gain hands-on experience using Bluebeam construction software during coursework and assessments, supported by weekly virtual drop-in sessions with your instructor and peers.
By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared to produce construction cost reports, complete bid documents, and conduct post-bid reviews — key skills for success in commercial construction estimating.
This course is ideal if you:
- are an early- or mid-level construction professional looking to strengthen estimating and bidding skills
- preparing for roles in project management, cost estimation, or planning and scheduling
- want to build Bluebeam skills to create estimates and manage digital construction documents.
You must complete ESTM 007 Commercial Construction Estimating before registering for this course.
Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll be able to:
- evaluate the progress of a construction project against its budget using the cost reporting system
- assist with managing project changes in consultation with other organizational business units
- complete standard digital and paper bid documents for a commercial building project from a bid report.
