Overview
Calgary is becoming Canada's supply chain and logistics centre of excellence. Get up to speed in this rapidly growing sector with these courses delivered on behalf of Supply Chain Canada (SCC). You will learn to support the management of increasingly complex upstream and downstream supply chain activities.
This program is for you if you:
- an individuals who works outside of the supply management field but have some procurement, logistics, transportation or operations responsibilities.
- have supervisory or management responsibilities and are seeking basic knowledge of your direct reports supply management functional areas.
- hold a role such as junior buyer, purchasing assistant, production planner, warehouse clerk, material handler, logistics administrator, inventory coordinator as well as associates, analysts and specialists.
- you have influence on organization's procurement decisions.
At the heart of it, supply chain management is about getting goods to the right place at the right time for the right cost. There are lots of ways and strategies to do that, all while mitigating risks for organizations.
Program outline
To successfully complete this certificate, you are required to complete a total of ten courses.
This training is offered through as evening courses and weekend seminars. Take courses in the order that works best for your situation and goals. To earn your certification, complete all required courses and meet graduation requirements within five years.

How to apply for this certificate
Once you have registered for any course offered in this certificate, you will be automatically eligible to complete the certificate. You will have up to three years to complete this program. You may track your progression by signing in to your Continuing Education student account.
Certifications and professional designations
The Supply Management Training (SMT) program does not provide a SAIT credential. Your diploma will be issued by Supply Chain Canada (SCC).
After completing the Supply Management Training (SMT) program at SAIT, you may be interested in pursuing the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation through SCC. By completing the courses in the SMT diploma program, you will receive exemptions from these courses in the SCMP designation program.

Costs
This program consists of ten mandatory courses with varying fees. Fees include access to all course-related materials and resources found in Brightspace (D2L).
