Interested in how the world around you gets built? In SAIT’s Civil Engineering Technology courses, you’ll discover how buildings, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure come to life — learning about design, drafting, project planning, and construction.
Is this the right fit for me?
This program is the right fit for students in Grade 11 or 12 who may have:
- interest in infrastructure and civil systems, such as roads, bridges, water systems, and buildings.
- willingness to do hands-on construction and materials testing
- enjoy creative problem solving
- considering a career in engineering and/or construction
Program length
Each offering takes place over one semester, Fall (Sept. – Dec.)

These courses can support your transition into several post-secondary pathways. Before starting second year, you’ll select one of three majors:
Co-requisite requirements
In order to be successful in this SAIT dual credit offering, students should be in their grade 11 or 12 years of high school and need to be on track to successfully pass the following courses or equivalents:
- at least 60% in Science 30 or Physics 20.
There may be other pre-requisite or co-requisites required by the school board for admission into this dual credit program. Check with your local school board for further information.
