Overview
This course provides an overview of the fundamental nature of the business of dydrocarbon measurement.
Measurement is part of the volume value chain in oil and gas operations and helps to determine the number of units the company is selling, and ultimately, its profitability.
You'll learn about the importance of:
- metering and measurement
- how to compare and contrast the theory and operation of measurement devices,
- calculating the various factors that affect hydrocarbon gas and liquid volumes and properties,
- understanding the value of metering in operations and the various processing conditions that affect measurement.
You'll also be able to explain proper maintenance practices for metering and measurement systems.
Understanding the fundamentals of measurement will assist production accountants, joint centure specialists, productions engineers, instrumentation technicians, operations and marketing staff in becoming more effective in their jobs within the oil and gas industry.
