Overview

This course focuses on technical knowledge in gas metering technology and its installation, design, and operation practices used within the oil and gas industry.

You'll learn:

  • how to specify gas metering applications that require pressure and temperature correction
  • how to outline the metering challenges and regulatory reporting requirements associated with wet gas and multi-phase gas measurement applications
  • outline fuel, flare and vent measurement
  • estimation and reporting regulations throughout the oil and gas industry in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan.

Upon completion, you'll be able to apply Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), British Columbia Oil and Gas Commission (BC OGC) and Saskatchewan Ministry of the Economy (SaskEcon) regulations in gas measurement. When designing gas metering applications and identifying installation instructions for Gas Metering types, you'll also be able to specify the appropriate use of the American Gas Association (AGA) and American Petroleum Institute (API).
