Accurate, well-managed production data is essential for efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making. Whether you work in oil and gas production, plant processing or operations, or data analysis, this course will give you the practical knowledge and tools to improve data accuracy, enhance efficiency, and make well-informed business decisions.

In this comprehensive course, you’ll learn how to gather, process, and analyze volumetric data using Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) devices, Field Data Capture (FDC) systems, gas charts, truck tickets, and logbooks. You’ll gain insight into production accounting systems and how they integrate with financial and regulatory reporting. Through practical exercises and real-world applications, you'll develop a strong understanding of how production data moves through the volume value chain, from field operations to compliance reporting.

Upon successful completion of this course, you'll be able to:

  • summarize the advantages and disadvantages of using an Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) device
  • demonstrate the role of a Field Data Capture (FDC) system in the gathering of field production data
  • identify the key components of gas chart measurement
  • summarize the purpose and uses of truck tickets and log books in month-end accounting
  • describe the purpose and role of the Production Accounting system in gathering, compiling and reporting volumes measured in operations.
