Upon successful completion of this program, you'll be able to:
- explain the structure and key sectors of the Canadian oil and gas industry
- describe how hydrocarbons are explored, developed, transported, and processed
- describe geological principles, reservoir characteristics, and hydrocarbon accumulation
- interpret geological, geophysical, and well data to support exploration and evaluation
- describe drilling systems, equipment, and key operations, including well control
- explain common well evaluation methods and their role in decision-making
- describe well completion methods, equipment, and intervention techniques
- explain production operations, including artificial lift, processing, and transportation systems

Program Outline
To earn this certificate, you must complete the six mandatory courses below. We recommend starting with PETR 110 Overview of the Canadian Oil and Gas Industry, then taking the remaining courses in the order listed.

Once you have registered for any course offered in this certificate, you will be automatically eligible to complete the certificate. You will have up to three years to complete this program. You may track your progression by signing in to your Continuing Education student account.

Upon successful completion of all the required courses in this certificate program, you’ll receive an electronically issued SAIT Certificate of Completion and transcript.
