The sait.ca events calendar lists events hosted by, or relevant to, SAIT’s future and current students, staff and alumni. Submissions for external events with no close relation to SAIT will not be posted.
When pulling together your event details, consider the following:
- Ensure your event name is meaningful. An event title that isn’t intuitive or well-established can be confusing. For example, “Study Tips and Tricks Workshop” is more meaningful than “Student Power-Up Workshop.”
- Make it clear who the event is for - students, staff, alumni, the general public? Write the event description using the appropriate tone of voice for that audience.
- Provide a clear description of what’s happening so attendees have a concrete idea of what to expect. Providing a vague description will deter people from attending.
- Add a registration CTA button, if applicable.
Assigning categories to your events helps identify who the event is for, the type of event, where it’s taking place and who the organizer is. These categories allow users to filter the calendar to find specific events.
Categories also help feed your event to other areas of the website where that event is more likely to be relevant to the user. For example, by tagging an event specifically for alumni with the alumni audience category, that event will also appear within any event feeds within the Alumni section of sait.ca.
Events do not need to have categories assigned from every category bucket. Additionally, you can assign multiple categories within one or more buckets.
- Event type: The topic or type of your event. For example, an information session or an event intended to support student health and wellbeing.
- Event venues: Where your event takes place. Select the appropriate building or platform.
- Audience: use to target a specific user type or area of interest (for example, current domestic students or employers and industry)
- Department: use for events open to, or hosted by, staff or students within one or more department.
- Schools: use for events open to, or hosted by, staff or students within one or more academic school.
- Programs: use for events open to, or hosted by, future or current students in one or more credit or apprenticeship programs.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
