The Marketing and Communications Systems team in Marketing is responsible for the strategy and operation of sait.ca while supporting content maintenance alongside internal stakeholders. It is the responsibility of academic schools and departments to ensure they work with Marketing to keep their information current and accurate.
Maintenance updates
Updates to content and digital assets are ongoing. Maintenance requests include updates to copy or images/documents on existing pages or a request to create one new in an existing section.
Schools or departments that have trained content contributors should first contact those individuals to make updates to sait.ca. If the contributor requires assistance, they can also reach out to site feedback for support.
Web projects
Web projects are defined as one or more of the following:
- extensive updates to more than three pages
- will require more than two to three days of work by an individual member of the digital strategy or experience teams
- require development support (new functionality not currently available)
- require other marketing team members with varying expertise, including content strategists, designers, and a digital & direct specialist.
Project intake process

Initial request
All web update requests should be sent to site.feedback@sait.ca, with the exception of those updates that may be completed by a content contributor.
Request evaluation
Once submitted, the request will be evaluated by the Digital Strategy and Experience teams and classified as one of the following:
- Maintenance update - work will proceed in order of request unless the request is flagged as urgent in relation to programs, admissions or tuition. Updates will be completed within 2-4 business days unless more information is required.
- Web project – more information and additional evaluation are required.
Web project intake
Requests classified as web projects will require additional information. The initial requester, or stakeholder, will be asked to complete a web project request form.
Once completed, the form will be sent to Marketing senior leaders for evaluation and prioritization based on the project decision framework. This framework evaluates projects based on several factors, including:
- available resources and budget
- impact on revenue generation
- alignment with the Marketing and Recruitment Plan, SAIT Strategic Plan and Strategic Enrolment Management objectives
- associated consequences or risks.
Projects are prioritized if they are determined to have a high-potential impact on revenue generation, are closely aligned with the Marketing and Recruitment Plan and Strategic Enrolment objectives and/or could create negative consequences or create security risks as a result of not completing the work.
Web project prioritization can be influenced by shifting resources and timelines, as well as the priorities of other departments throughout the organization. Once the web project request has been evaluated, a member of the Marketing team will follow up with the requesting employee to provide the decision and a possible project timeline.
All the required information or draft content (including any necessary visual assets like photos, videos or graphic elements) for a project should be provided to the digital team BEFORE your desired project kick-off date. Most projects cannot commence without this information being provided by you first. Failure to provide this information can result in project delays or postponement.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
