Barre FTNS 102 See upcoming dates and register
This class is a fusion of Pilates, yoga and ballet. This full body workout will strengthen your muscles through isometric muscle contractions. Using two to three-pound weights, high reps combined with a small range of motion will help create that lean dancer's body.
Box X Small Group Training* FTNS 100 See upcoming dates and register
Take your training to the next level. This is a high-intensity plyometric-based workout. You will use agility ladders, plyometric boxes, medicine balls, TRX and sandbags to train like an athlete using powerful and explosive movements that will help build a strong, athletic physique.
Hump Day HIIT* FTNS 125 See upcoming dates and register
This 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class will help you get through your week and give you energy for the entire week. The class is designed with intense bursts of exercises followed by short recovery. You will get your heart pumping and burn more calories in less time. This class is perfect for a Wednesday.
Get Ripped!* FTNS 126 See upcoming dates and register
Get Ripped! is a well-designed and progressive fitness workout. Each level of the Get Ripped! workout builds on the previous. All five levels of this workout have specific goals and special attention is given to lactic acid accumulation and recovery within the workout that fits the metabolic goal for each level. The methodology of this workout allows for continual adaptation since each level has unique rest intervals, exercises, and overall volume of work. Through this structure of programming, Get Ripped! is applicable to both the entry-level and advanced participant.

Challenge your body in this 60-minute fast-paced cardio class that incorporates muscle conditioning using small weights. It is recommended that you bring a small towel and a water bottle.
TRX Chisel FTNS 002 See upcoming dates and register
Utilizing the TRX suspension trainer and your own body weight, this class will offer you a variety of different functional movement workouts week to week. Each class focuses on building muscular endurance and different equipment will be used, including Bender Balls, Therabends, Gliders and more.

A class that brings together breath, body and mind through the practice of asana. Class ends with restorative poses to revive your vital energy - calming, healing and soothing way to end your practice.
Flow and Lengthen Yoga* YOGA 104 See upcoming dates and register
Come and join us for a good stretch. Flow and Lengthen will increase flexibility and help lengthen those muscles for some well-deserved stress relief.
Yoga for Backs YOGA 108 See upcoming dates and register
We've got your back! This class is designed to pay particular attention to the whole back including the neck and shoulders. Extra care will be given to stretching and strengthening the muscles that support the back.
Yoga for Hips and Shoulders* YOGA 109 See upcoming dates and register
This class will focus on movement and poses designed to strengthen and increase a range of motion in the hips and shoulders, as well as to help develop greater body awareness. Great for beginners and advanced students alike.
Pilates PILA 101 See upcoming dates and register
Pilates is a series of movements designed to strengthen, tone and improve flexibility. Using isolated movements, you will feel the burn and work towards a long, lean body.
Tai Chi Foundations MART 125 See upcoming dates and register
The instructor will teach a set of standing exercises which will provide experience in grounding, Silk reeling and traditional Yang style movements. Tai Chi can help increase flexibility, muscle strength and feeling of well-being. Yang style is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Tai Chi Intermediate MART 144 See upcoming dates and register
This class teaches joint, standing and Silk reeling exercises, as well as including Yang style form and Chen style 18 form. It places equal emphasis on external body movements, internal energy control and mental awareness and is combined with body movements. The conscious mind focuses on the movements, directing the body to move through the forms.

You will learn joint exercises, wuji standing, qigong and Yang Style 108 form in this class. Tai Chi principles are incorporated into the practice and equal emphasis is placed on body movements and internal energy control.

Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA)
Have you ever thought about teaching group fitness classes? Become a member of the Alberta Fitness & Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA). Gain practical knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, movement mechanics, and basic nutrition. Exercise Theory is a requirement to proceed to all AFLCA speciality modules including Resistance Training.

Capoeira is a Brazilian mixed martial art, developed 400 years ago by the slaves and indigenous people of Brazil, who were forced to disguise their art form by incorporating elements of dance and acrobatics. Our classes involve cardiovascular and muscular components, Brazilian song and dance, and are designed for people of all ages and abilities.

Adult Red Cross Swim Basics SWIM 132 See upcoming dates and register
Swimmers learn front and back float, front and back glide with kick, front swim, and shallow water entries and exits. This class is great for swimmers with limited or no swimming experience.
Adult Red Cross Swim Basics 2 SWIM 135 See upcoming dates and register
Swimmers learn how to back swim with a shoulder roll, front and back crawl (15 metres), sitting dive, kneeling dive, stride and front dive, treading water, and swim a minimum distance of 25 metres.
Adult Red Cross Swim Strokes SWIM 133 See upcoming dates and register
Swimmers further refine technique with front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. This is for swimmers who wish to develop better endurance and proficiency with their swimming. Prerequisite: The ability to swim 50 metres continuously on your front and/or back and a willingness to increase your comfort in deep water.

Bronze Medallion AQUA 131 See upcoming dates and register
Bronze Medallion is the first step to becoming a lifeguard and teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles

Pre-requisite: 13 years of age on the first day of class, or successful completion of Bronze Star, and the ability to swim.

Bronze Cross AQUA 133 See upcoming dates and register
Bronze Cross is the second step in becoming a lifeguard. Bronze Cross teaches the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding, the principles of emergency procedures and teamwork.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Bronze Medallion.

Get both courses done in one week! Due to the intense nature of this course, strong swim skills and Standard First Aid are recommended.

Pre-requisite: 13 years of age on the first day of class, or successful completion of Bronze Star, and the ability to swim.

National Lifeguard (NL) AQUA 140 See upcoming dates and register
National Lifeguard is a nationally recognized lifeguard certification and the final step in becoming a lifeguard.

Pre-requisite: Successful completion of a Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid, and 16 years of age on the first day of class.

Lifesaving/Swim Instructor Recertification AQUA 120 See upcoming dates and register
The Swim / Lifesaving Instructor Recertification Course evaluates instructor skills, provides updates to programming, and allows an opportunity for instructors to give feedback to the Lifesaving Society. Candidates need to bring their old award, swimming resources, and swimming gear for the wet portion.

Prerequisite: Proof of certification must be presented to the instructor.

National Lifeguard (NL) Recertification AQUA 126 See upcoming dates and register
NL recertification tests all NL skill items and provides any updated information. NL candidates must recertify their award prior to its two-year expiry date for it to remain active. Candidates whose award is past the two year period may still recertify if they have held the award in the past five years.

Prerequisite: Proof of certification must be presented to the instructor.

WSI Recertification AQUA 169 See upcoming dates and register
Instructors participate in a water session and receive new program update information pertaining to Red Cross Swim Programs. The water safety instructor recertification is designed to ensure quality and standards are maintained.
Upon successful completion of the Water Safety Instructor course, you'll be certified to teach the Red Cross Water Safety Program. The course includes seven weeks of mandatory teaching experience hours.

Prerequisites: 15 years of age, successful completion of Red Cross Assistant Lifeguard, Emergency First Aid, OR Bronze Cross. Must be able to demonstrate the strokes and skills in Water Safety Instruction.
