On November 9th, from 2 - 5 P.M., SAIT's Writers Workshop is offering a free creative writing workshop to SAIT students, staff and community in the Reg Erhardt Library meeting room (MC008). Workshop participants will be led through a story creation exercise by Mike Jones, PhD Creative Writing and Literature, University of Houston. Snacks will be provided.

Please RSVP for the workshop to mike.jones@sait.ca.

SAIT Creative Writing Festival

This event is part of the SAIT Creative Writing Festival. In fulfillment of its mandate to host an annual creative writing event for the larger SAIT community, SAIT's Writers Workshop has partnered with filling Station magazine to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

From 6:30 to 7 P.M. in the Orpheus theatre, the Writers Workshop will celebrate their accomplishments with readings by members Richard Jones and Mike Jones (unrelated). The Workshop will also announce the 2017/2018 SAIT student short story contest winner, and the winner will read a portion of their incredible story. Name of the winner and biography coming soon.

From 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Calgary authors with connections to filling Station will read in the Orpheus theatre, culminating with our very special guest reader, Liz Howard, winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize.

From 8:30 to 10 P.M. we will convene in the Gateway for drinks and socializing.
