Wood Trades Expo 2017

Students planning and building furniture.

The Library is celebrating the talented apprentices from the Cabinetmaking and Carpentry programs.

Hand crafted furniture and wood projects built by these students are on display in the Reg Erhardt Library from Monday, October 30th to Friday, November 17th.

SAIT's Wood Trades apprentices work in many areas of construction, including residential, commercial and industrial construction.

Carpenters are involved in reading blueprints, selecting materials and methods of work, measuring, cutting and joining materials. They can also specialize in one type of work such as framing, bench work or finishing carpentry. Cabinetmakers produce custom-made wood products and learn how to build and repair wood components, furniture, fixtures and cabinetry.

Please stop by the Library and take a look at this exceptional display.
