Program orientation requirements

Select your program below to see your orientation date, any additional supplies you may need, required or recommended preparation courses and who to contact if you have questions.

Administrative Information Management

Orientation date: Wednesday, Aug. 28

Required equipment/tools: This is a  Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. You are responsible for bringing a laptop that meets the minimum hardware requirements and operating system. 

Preparation courses: To support your success, SAIT offers some short courses before classes start, including PREP 100: The SAIT Experience (recommended) and ETHI 110: SAIT Ethical Practices (required). Learn more about these courses.

Required textbooks: The  Fall 2019 booklist will be available on Tuesday, Aug. 20. We recommend you wait to buy your textbooks until your first few days of classes. 

Anticipated supply costs: Books and supplies are approximately $1,400 for the first year. If you do not already have a laptop that meets the minimum hardware and operating system requirements, it will cost approximately $600-$800 to purchase one.

Schedule changes: First-semester students can’t make changes to their schedule until the first day of classes. The add/drop period, when changes can be made to registration and schedule, is from Tuesday, Sept. 3 to Friday, Sept. 13 for full-time students.

Bachelor of Business Administration

Orientation date: Wednesday, Aug. 28

Required equipment/tools: This is a  Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. You are responsible for bringing a laptop that meets the minimum hardware requirements and operating system.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Services major) has a maximum of six courses that require registration and payment to an external accrediting body of approximately $400 to $700 per course for an industry licensing exam.

Business Administration

Legal Assistant

Orientation date: Wednesday, Aug. 28

Required equipment/tools: This is an e-learning program. You'll be provided with a laptop equipped with the necessary programs, files and applications for your courses.

Preparation courses: To support your success, SAIT offers some short courses before classes start, including PREP 100: The SAIT Experience (recommended) and ETHI 110: SAIT Ethical Practices (required). Learn more about these courses.

Required textbooks: The  Fall 2019 booklist will be available on Tuesday, Aug. 20. We recommend you wait to buy your textbooks until your first few days of classes. 

Anticipated supply costs: Books and supplies are approximately $1,000 for the first year. There is also a $400 refundable security deposit required for the use of the laptop.

Office Professional Certificate

Orientation date: Wednesday, Aug. 28
