How do I make a donation to SAIT ?

Thank you for asking. There are many ways to give to SAIT. You can find them on our Ways to Give page. You may wish to donate online or you can contact us to arrange a personal conversation with one of our staff to discuss your wishes. Can I donate equipment instead of money?

Yes, we accept gifts-in-kind. Contact us to discuss the nature of your gift and to ensure your gift will be used as you intend. Send an email to Richard.Horbachewski@sait.ca or call 403.210.4393.


Can I designate my gift to be used for a particular school, academic or athletic program, and/or scholarship area?

Yes you can! You are allowed to advise us on the criteria for the award, i.e. financial need or academic excellence, but you may not designate a particular student. How much of my contribution to SAIT is used for administrative purposes?

We take our fiscal responsibilities seriously, and are proud of our track record in managing donor funds. In SAIT’s 2016/17 fiscal year we expect to raise $12 million at a cost of $2.2 million. This translates into $0.18 for every dollar we raise. In 2015/16 we invested $2.09 million in fundraising activities and raised $12.1 million, for a cost of $0.17 to a dollar.


Does SAIT issue a charitable tax receipt and is there a minimum donation for a receipt?

Yes, SAIT issues a charitable tax receipt for the full value of all philanthropic gifts. There is no minimum donation. When you make your gift, please make sure all you information—name, address, etc., is correct. If you made a donation and did not receive a receipt, please email Emily.Borrelli@sait.ca or call 403.284.8419.


How do I know my information is kept private?

Please have a look at SAIT's Privacy Policy. It includes information about how SAIT complies with anti-spam legislation, our procedures regarding personal information and our policy for information we collect. The following paragraph relates to matters of personal information:

"If you choose to give us personal information via the Internet that we or our educational partners may need - to correspond with you, process an order or provide you with a subscription, for example - it is our intent to let you know how we will use such information. If you tell us that you do not wish to have this information used as a basis for further contact with you, we will respect your wishes."

Why does SAIT have a Student Calling Program that contacts alumni?

It's important to keep in touch with our 120,000-plus SAIT alumni for a variety of reasons. We want to make sure we have correct addresses and email information to communicate with as many as we can. We want to ensure that as many alumni as possible don't miss out on their free subscription to LINK Magazine, our e-newsletter, ELINK and other information about perks and benefits available to all SAIT graduates.

Student callers also call alumni to raise funds for Annual Giving programs such as the SAIT Opportunities Fund and the I.G. Lewis Student Emergency Fund. We are very proud of our student callers who act as ambassadors to the SAIT alumni community.


How do I update my contact information or is it possible to be removed from your calling and/or mailing list?

To update your contact information, simply fill out this form.

Can I volunteer at SAIT events?

Yes. We have a number of volunteer opportunities at SAIT Alumni and Development events. Please register as a volunteer. Once you're registered, we will contact you to find out about your interests and provide you with details about our events and how you can help.


Do you offer tours of SAIT?

We suggest you keep an eye out for a SAIT Open House. There are two annually: one in October; and one in February. We open our doors to the community and are welcome to take a guided tour of many of our facilities, labs, workshops and classrooms. For other tour requests, please contact alumni@sait.ca.
