Tuition deposit payment
A tuition deposit is required to secure your seat in a program after you've received an offer of admission. The deposit will be applied to your account and will be used as a credit for your first semester tuition payment. Your tuition deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Fall 2017 and winter 2018 terms
If you're offered admission to a program starting in the fall 2017 or winter 2018 terms, your tuition deposit is due two weeks after the offer is made.
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents and refugees: $250 tuition deposit
- International students: $250 tuition deposit
Spring, summer and fall 2018 terms
If you're offered admission to a program starting in the spring, summer or fall 2018 terms, your tuition deposit is due 30 days after the offer is made. Applications opened Oct. 18, 2017.
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents and refugees: $750 tuition deposit
- International students: $1,750 tuition deposit
- Academic Upgrading students: $250 tuition deposit
Effective October 1, 2017 - and applicable to applications for spring 2018 onward - SAIT will consider refunding the tuition deposit less a $250 administration fee under certain circumstances only. Find out more.
When is tuition due?
Tuition and fees are payable after you have been registered in your classes. You must have your financing in place and pay your tuition by the applicable deadline. Tuition is due in full four weeks before the program start date for new students and on the last day of the add/drop period for continuing students.
If you're starting a new program at SAIT, then you're considered a new student — or accepted student. Tuition is due in full four weeks before the program start date. If your tuition payment is not received by the deadline, your offer of admission will be cancelled.
If you're going into the next term of the same program at SAIT, then you're considered a continuing student — or current student. Tuition is due in full on the last day of the add/drop period (starting Fall 2017). If your tuition payment is not received by the deadline, you'll be dismissed from SAIT and will be responsible for full fees owing.

*Program start dates not listed above have a tuition payment deadline of four weeks before the program start date for new students and on the first day of class for continuing students.

Applications for student loans typically open in mid-June before fall programs start.
Apply early to make sure your loan is processed as soon as possible — you don't have to be accepted to SAIT to apply for funding. Also, if you have your funding in place and confirmed with SAIT and Student Aid Alberta (or the office for your province) before your tuition payment deadline, then we'll defer your deadline for the amount that will be received until your loan disbursement date.
If you're an Alberta resident, visit Student Aid Alberta to apply for a student loan. If you haven't lived in Alberta for at least 12 months prior to the start of your program, you must apply for student loan funding from your province of residence.
Entrance awards are designated for students who are beginning a new program at SAIT. In some instances they are program specific and in others, students in all programs may apply. The deadline to apply for 2018/2019 Entrance Awards is May 30, 2018.
Confirmation of Enrolment letter
You'll need a Confirmation of Enrolment letter in order to access RESPs, scholarships, or other sources of funding. Contact the Office of the Registrar to request the letter after you're registered in classes.
