International Document Assessment

International document assessments are for applicants who were educated outside of Canada. If you require an evaluation to compare your education to our program admission requirements, consider SAIT's international document assessment service.

This evaluation costs a one-time fee of $150 and is valid only for admission to SAIT. If you plan on applying to another school after you graduate, we encourage you to send your documentation to an approved assessment service as listed on the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC).

SAIT will also recognize other document and credential assessments for admission. Find out which evaluations we will accept

Step 1: Apply to a SAIT program

You must choose a program and submit an application before we will evaluate your documents.

Step 2: Submit your anticipated final grades

It can take 6 to 8 weeks for your documents to be assessed. To be considered for admission or selection while you wait for your assessment results, you must provide anticipated final grades for the program admission requirements.

Step 3: Email your documentation

Review the checklist to ensure we receive appropriate documentation to prepare a complete evaluation. Scan the following documents and email them to international.assessment@sait.ca

  • Official educational documents in the original language and translated to English. Authorized translators can be found by contacting the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta (ATIA).
  • Official secondary and post-secondary documents (if you have attended a post-secondary institution) with a seal or stamp from the institution and an explanation of the grading system.
  • Original diploma and/or degree
  • If your primary language of instruction was not English, you will be required to submit a valid English language test score completed within the last 12 months.
  • If you have been married, divorced or had a formal name change and your documents reflect a different name, we will require validation of that name change (i.e. marriage certification or proof of legal name change).

Assessments can take 6 to 8 weeks if all of your documentation is submitted. If additional documentation is required or requested, expect a delay.

Step 4: Check your email

You will be contacted by an International Document Assessor within 3 business days of submitting your documents. The Assessor will include your options, next steps, and payment information (if applicable).
